Emergency Response
Emergencies create and immediate threat to health, life, property or the environment. We may not be able to control when and where life threatening emergencies happen, we can control how prepared we are to cope with them. Being prepared can minimize property damage and will greatly reduce the chance that you will suffer disfiguring injuries or death. Having plan is key and OSHA requires your company to have a plan in place with evacuation procedures and emergency escape routes.
Upon completion of this learning event, the learner will demonstrate knowledge of what to do in case of an emergency in the workplace. Employees will learn how to identify the importance of a well-defined emergency response plan and reporting emergencies, the components of an evacuation, and identify emergency response actions. Under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.38, an employer is required to train employees over company specific evacuation plans. This course will help employers to meet these requirements but additional training will have to be provided over company specific plans.
