Environmental Performance Training

In 2007, the EPA acknowledged that despite recent tightening of emission standards for waste incineration power plants, the waste-to-energy process still create significant emissions, including trace amounts of hazardous air pollutants. A healthy environment is essential to the sustainable growth of many businesses. According to the Environmental Performance Index (EPI), which is a method of quantifying the environmental performance of a county's policy, the United States ranked 61st in 2010 as compared to 39th place in 2008. Iceland is the top performer due to its high scores on environmental public health. To achieve sustainable development and a higher quality of life for all people, industries and countries should reduce and eliminate unsustainable patterns of production. This course series will focus the EPA and OSHA standards of pollution prevention.
