The Hazardous Materials Table
This online course will enable learners to effectively use the HAZMAT Table, 49CFR 172.101. After completion the learner will be able to identify information about a particular hazardous material, such as the hazard class or division, ID number, packing group and label codes from the Hazardous Materials Table. The Learner will also be able to use the Hazardous Materials Table to identify the proper shipping name and the basic description and define and indicate the reportable quantity of hazardous substances. The Learner will also be able to identify marine pollutants and severe marine pollutants.

Target Audience
: This course is intended for workers who, during the execution of any job duties, are required to transport hazardous materials regulated by the United States Department of Transportation.

To successfully complete this course, the Learner will demonstrate the ability to:
- HMT 1.1.0 Identify information about a particular hazardous material, such as the hazard class or division, ID number, packing group, label codes, and other provisions from the Hazardous Materials Table
- HMT 1.2.0 Apply your understanding of the Hazardous Materials Table to identify the proper shipping name for a hazardous material and the basic description for a shipment of that hazardous material
- HMT 1.3.0 Define a hazardous substance and indicate the reportable quantity of that hazardous substance from the information provided in Table 1 and Table 2 to Appendix A of the Hazardous Materials Table
- HMT 1.4.0 Identify marine pollutants and severe marine pollutants using Appendix B of the Hazardous Materials Table
