Job Safety Analysis


Job hazard analysis can help you discover hazards in your workplace and find ways to protect yourself from them. At times safety experts are required to do an extremely specific breakdown of a job to understand that jobs hazards, at other times to identify a jobs safety hazards the company’s safety officer will just do a general evaluation of job practices and current safety measures. However, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, recommends that employees do their own job safety analysis and participate in company efforts to reduce workplace hazards.

This course is designed to provide you with the basic skills you need to understand and perform a basic job hazard analysis. By the time it’s over you should be able to describe the need for a job hazard analysis, recall the process of preparing for a job hazard analysis, recall the process of identifying workplace hazards, and recall the means of correcting or preventing hazards.
