Fire Safety

Fire safety training is mandated by governments for schools and offices but all workplaces should consider the importance of fire safety training. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 113 employees died from a fire or explosion in the workplace in 2009. Fires are an unexpected occurrence in the workplace but unfortunately too common enough to ignore with over 60% being caused by accidents. Proper fire safety training can save lives by minimizing the panic and chaos as well as instruct people on what protocol to follow.

This course covers 1910.33-1910.39 and touches briefly on fire extinguisher selection which is 1910.157. This course will help employees to understand the importance of knowing and understanding an evacuation plan and what to do in case of a fire in the workplace, however the employee will need to be trained by the company over the company specific evacuation plan. In addition to this course, the employer may also be interested in Portable Fire Extinguishers course, and the Emergency Response course.
