Hazard Communication

OSHA regulations on Hazard Communications are put in place to ensure that the hazards of all chemicals produced or imported are evaluated and that information concerning the hazards are given to employers and employees. This transmittal of information is to be accomplished by means of comprehensive hazard communication programs, which are to include container labeling and other forms of warning, material safety data sheets and employee training.

This course will teach you the meaning of your company's HAZCOM program but will not cover your company's specific policy or worksite specific chemicals. However this course will cover the training requirement of the labeling system outlined in 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iv) and it covers general physical and health hazards in the work area outlined in 1910.1200(h)(3)(ii). This course will also provide workers of the information generally covered in an MSDS and what it means. To ensure the safety of all employees, this course is designed to teach the learner the purpose and major components of a hazard communication program, and its implementation in the workplace.
