Description

Nearly 24,000 workers are hurt and 17 are killed during every eight-hour workday. According to the National Safety Council, workplace accidents cost over $100 billion every year. To help protect workers from potential hazards, many companies are required to create Occupational Safety and Health programs.

Upon completion of this learning event, the Learner will demonstrate knowledge of OSH programs and how it protects workers. This course covers the general information for implicating a safety and health program, including how to get the employee and management involved. There is no formal training requirement over this subject. Employees will learn to identify the impact of injuries and accidents in the workplace, elements of safety management, types of workplace analysis, methods to control workplace hazards and the several types of employee safety and health training. In addition to this course, the employer may also be interested in the Performing Safety Audits, Introduction to OSHA, and Introduction to Industrial Hygiene courses.
