Overhead, Gantry and Mobile Crane Safety
OSHA states that falls and crane accidents are the leading causes of work-related fatalities in the construction industry. The Bureau of Labor Statistics conducted a study in 2008 and from the results that were gathered there were 72 crane related fatalities in 206, down from an average of 78 per year from 2003 to 2005. Of the cranes that were specified in the fatality, overhead cranes were involved in the majority of the fatalities.
