Description

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), storm water pollution from point sources and nonpoint sources is a challenging water quality problem. Unlike pollution from industry or sewage treatment facilities, which is caused by a discrete number of sources, storm water pollution is caused by the daily activities of people everywhere. Storm water runoff is the most common cause of water pollution.

Upon completion of this learning event, employees will demonstrate knowledge of storm water pollution and how to prevent it. Employees will learn to identify major points of storm water pollution and its impact, how storm water carries pollution, and the importance of their role in carrying out storm water pollution prevention Best Management Practices. This course is provided to assist the employer in meeting the requirements of EPA Regulation 40 CFR Part 122. There are no specific training requirements under the regulation.
